Two Good Reasons
14 May 2008
For the longest time, I don't gather my pop bottles for money. I do buy, to some degree, a fair amount of them. We love to drink pop especially in a hot summer days or when they are on sale. I just can't be bother saving them until I'll have 4-10 bags of them. I figured, by the time I drive them to the depot, I'll use up the same or more on gas than what I would have get from the bottles. So I would just put them together with the recyclables and let the garbage man be happy. But I have found a way to get to the depot with no or less expense on gas. I just shove them in my Jeep on the way to a friend's house. That way, I am killing 2 birds with one stone:)lol...well, with the gas prices soaring high and all the commodities expensive, I am saving all the bottles I can to have that extra money for coffee and of course, helping mother earth with the recycling...

When oh when???
13 May 2008
I have been meaning to change the look of this blog. It's May and until now, I haven't done anything with this. I have captured a lot of spring flowers to use for a header. But still, I haven't had the enthusiasm to do it. I am not really sure what to do here. I just want a simple one but I am browsing to a lot of template and designs here and nothing gets my attention. Oh well, I guess I'll keep browsing:)

It's not easy...
I have been so hectic with my schedule so far. I have started a business with my family here a month ago now. That's why I have been extremely busy these last few days. I can barely do the things I love most while taking it easy after a day's work. You know,... the blogging! lol...well, I do squeeze some whenever I can. I am glad I took this big step with my family as my support, I know I can do it!..at the same time, it's very scary. I lost all my privileges from work. Paid vacations, paid health plans not covered by the goverment, like dentist and medical prescriptions. Now, I have to buy those on my own. But then again, I am my own boss now, which is great. Plus no shift work anymore. It's kind of exciting actually.

Sales!
13 January 2008

We went to the mall again the other day and yes, there are a lot of sales! I kinda spend a little too much on Christmas that it is so annoying not to be able to buy the good sales now! Stuff that I paid for $19.99 are now marked as $9.99! It is kinda frustrating when you walk in a store and find the exact stuff you just bought marked down that much. And the thing is I can't return this stuff anymore because I had given them as gifts. Oh well, I should buy more stuff now for next Christmas, eh?

Edited it a little!
10 January 2008
Well, I had a little time tonight to edit this blog a little. Since Christmas was over few weeks ago, I just thought it would be appropriate to change the look of this blog. I really don't have the time to make this really fancy, so I just changed some of it. I have seen really cool blogs nowadays, but I am quite happy with my template so far, although I am dying to try some new stuff available now but at the same time, I am sort of avoiding complicated codes which makes my life a little too complicated:)......I did it a lot of times in the past. Experienced the satisfaction of a new fresh-looking blog after a 10-15 hours of experimenting with codes. Then after a couple of months, I am back to zero again. Well, as I said, I am keeping it simple, perhaps, I am getting old with this:) hehehehe

Canadian weather as I see it!
05 January 2008
The weather in Canada is really amazing. Just a few days ago, it was raining. And last night that temperature went to around zero degrees Fahrenheit. Now the slush that's on the ground after the rain has frozen solid and is lumpy and hard to drive on in the driveway. My hubby has trouble getting out sometimes, even with his new front tires. But when we discussed it, I just smiled at him because I have a jeep and can use the 4-wheel drive! The thing about winter in Canada is, that just as it gets really bad, it also gets to a point where we can start looking forward to summer. There is only another two weeks or so before the weather starts getting better occasionally rather than getting worst all the time.

Our Christmas Photos
29 December 2007
Ok, this is kinda late, but as I have mentioned, I was not planning on staying that long at my folks house, but the weather did not cooperate with me. I did not take the camera with me because I thought I was only dropping them off. I just got home this afternoon, a little shaky from the accident I was involved in. But thank God, everybody involved was fine. My dad who was with me was a little agitated with the driver who hit my car. But I told him to stay calm and let me handle the situation. Anyways, I am here now, trying to get this photos uploaded. There was quite a bunch of them. Everybody was trying to open gifts faster than I can take photos. Anyways, here's my remembrance for this year's family Christmas.

Was in an accident...........
28 December 2007
Oh my goodness!!! I have never been scared in my life until today!!
I wasn't home since the 26th. I was at my folks house the whole time( one reason I wasn't able to get my photos up for Christmas!)..Anyways, I was going to come home yesterday but it started to snow and I passed 2 cars involved in an accident while going to the mall there, so I decided not to drive on the highway yesterday to come home. Hubby had phoned too, telling me that it was not a good idea to drive. So I stayed another night there. Finally today, it wasn't bad so I decided to come home. I was then on the highway, on cruise, doing 100km/hour on a 110 limit. I saw this truck with a flashing light driving slower than me up ahead. When I got near it, I checked my sides and my rear view mirror ready to pass him. The coast was clear, there were cars behind me but they were still way too far. So I know it was good to pass. I then passed the truck on the faster lane. I saw this car fast approaching behind me on the fast lane, meanwhile, I am still a few feet ahead from the tail of the truck. I then saw the car behind me passed me going to the third lane, which was fine by me. I was aware he was there. All of a sudden, I heard this scratchy tire sound and next thing I know, I saw his front right end hit the side of my car!! He hit my side door- the driver's side. It was really scary! Good thing my jeep didn't lost out of control, I was in control of the steering wheel and was able to slowly get my car to the side of the road until it stopped. Meanwhile, the sedan car that hits me span a little in the median. I thought they where going to be in bad shape but they were okay. The guy smashed his right side light on impact while my car received a big dent on the side! I am just glad nobody got hurt though. I was still shaking when we exchanged insurance and licenses....now I have to get it quoted after the holidays:(

Here's my remembrance!

Debating!
22 November 2007
I am leaning into the idea of making this blog as "our blog" since I can't keep up with 3 blogs. Hubby had started a new blog but he is so new to this that he doesn't really know what to do and "I am to quick" for him as he describes. He loves the idea of writing his opinions on things and he have a lot to write. He could get long-winded sometimes but some of his posts are interesting as well as funny. I am still debating about letting him join here since most of my "colleagues" here are females and pinays:) LOL..I am also debating whether to dump the other two blogs I already maintained. The original plan was to get this domain and delete the other two. Well, I can't decide yet, maybe if hubby will persists, I will cave in. I will think about that on the weekend:) hehehe

Stay young!
19 November 2007
Here's some tips on how to stay young:)..I found these very helpful and insightful:) Keep smiling!!!

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop," And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on.The only person who is with us our entire life, is God. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips.Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

The first!
15 November 2007

I have read that in 2012, the first hotel opens in outer space! can you believe that? Launching in 2012, the Galactic Suite will offers Earthlings the chance to stay in one the three space pods while circling the Earth every 80 minutes!Isn't that the coolest thing? Of course, the price tag is steep obviously, $4m for a three-day visit. But consider this, you will get to experience the 0 gravity, see the sun rise 15 times a day and, for a shower, enter a spa room where bubbles of water float around you!

Trust
02 August 2007

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

A female telephone operator received a phone call one day. She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence. She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer. When she was going to cut off the line, she heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB.Sorry, I got the number from my husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is." Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB".

NO POINTING FINGERS
04 July 2007

A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?"

The father-in-law answered in a smile, "Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at. This is the start of a war. We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves.

If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

Crappy cramps!
25 May 2007
I can't help but to pray that my monthly visitor will visit me during the weekend. I don't mind ruining my weekend as long as I am not at work especially the first day. Do you often pop painkiller to relieve menstrual cramps? I have some knowledge about drug-free remedies that has been proven by studies as effective. One of them is by having a sip of chamomile tea. 5 cups a day actually. OK, i gotta check this one out, because it's not just me but my lil sis too!

Teddy
25 April 2007

Stuff teddy bears are one of the popular girls would want. A lot of young lovers give teddy bears for their sweety and I know that little girls love them too. But do you know how Teddy was born? I read that the first teddy bear was crafted in 1902. A Brooklyn toy maker named his stuffed bear after the Pres of the US, T. "Teddy" Roosevelt. It was said to have been inspired by a bear that Roosevelt spared during a hunting trip.

Sour Genes
17 April 2007
Do you have 'sour gene'?
Does your mouth water when you see a bag of sour path candies or when you cut into a fresh grapefruit? Or is the thought of sour foods enough of make your lips pucker? Then thank your genes!!Folks with high genetic tolerance for sour seek out foods with ingredients like lemons and vinegar- while those without it avoid them when they can!
