Living Like A Backpacker
30 July 2009
It has occurred to me that it really is possible to live a lot cheaper than I am doing right now. Most of the things I spend money on, or that generate monthly bills, are a result of having to do the work that is done to pay them. Take a vehicle, for instance. My payment is really made to two different places, one the place that sold the vehicle, and two, the place that I borrowed the money from. If I did not need a vehicle, then I would not need to pay! Say I decided to live in a tent, then I could do away with any mortgage payment, other than a few dollars for the land. And the tent, being small, would need less heat.
Eating a vegetarian diet, too, would give great monetary savings. I figure I could slash my food bill by maybe 60%, and maybe lose a few pounds as well!
Hmm, now I think of it, there are two ways to be rich - one is to have a large income, the other is to have low living expenses.
